Come join the Young Irish Fellowship Club for a happy hour at Mahoney’s Pub on Ogden on Friday, June 18th from 6:30 to 8:30pm. Entry fee is only $5 for YIFC members and $15 for non-members. Through the rough and out of the trees, the Young Irish Fellowship Club of Chicago (YIFC) and hundreds of friends came to the aid of one of its own. Clad in golf attire and argyle socks, the YIFC held a golf-themed pub crawl on May 15 in Old Town, and in the process raised over $2,000 and a portion of the proceeds will benefit the McShane Fund, which will help aid in the recovery of Natasha McShane, a UIC grad student from Northern Ireland, who was victim of senseless violence in Bucktown on April 23. Natasha’s condition has since been upgraded from critical condition, but her road to recovery and the burden on her family continues. To support future fundraisers, visit www.helpnatasha.net.

The Young Irish Fellowship gathers in Old Town for one of its own
Join the Young Irish Fellowship Club of Chicago (YIFC) for a round of golf on Wells Street and leave the clubs behind to raise funds for an important cause. The YIFC and friends will head to Old Town on Saturday, May 15, for a golf-themed pubcrawl in support of one of our own—Natasha McShane. A portion of the proceeds from the pubcrawl will benefit McShane, a 23-year-old UIC graduate student from Northern Ireland, who was victim of senseless violence on April 23 and critically injured.
Crawlers are encouraged to grab a foursome and break out their golf attire when the pubcrawl tees off at 1 p.m. at Corcoran’s Pub, 1615 N. Wells St.

Participants can join the crawl at any time. Tickets are $20, and include drink specials, entry into the golf drinking game, and T-shirts while supplies last. Donations and sponsorship are most welcome.

Many people around the Chicagoland area were stunned to hear about the vicious attack on two young women that recently occurred in the Bucktown neighborhood. On April 23, 2010 the victims were attacked and brutally beaten with a baseball bat, as they were walking home one evening. Both women suffered severe injuries. Natasha McShane, a 23 year-old from Ireland, remains in critical condition.
Natasha’s parents and family members flew immediately to Chicago from Ireland, and have been at her bedside as she has undergone a series of dangerous operations and medical procedures. Natasha continues to struggle for her life.
